Preparation for the 35th Control international trade fair for quality assurance is now approaching the homestretch. Attention will be focused across all industries on the issues of vision technology, image processing and sensor technology, as well as measuring and test technology, in Stuttgart from the 9th through the 12th of May, 2023. The business platform with world-leading trade fair character showcases new technologies and expanded fields of application.
Frickenhausen, 07.02.2023 – Control is one of the most important, large international trade fairs covering the field of quality assurance (QA) and will be held for the 35th time this year. “We’re pleased that more bookings have now already been received than at the same time in 2022”, reports project manager Fabian Krüger from trade fair promoters P. E. Schall. “At nearly 37%, the proportion of foreign exhibitors already exceeds the figures for 2022,” says the project manager. “The innovations in quality control and quality assurance presented in halls 3, 5, 7 and 9 are sure to arouse lots of interest and curiosity,” promises Krüger. The reason: Measuring and test technologies continue to develop at a rapid pace – on the one hand because new fields of application are opening up, and on the other hand because increasing automation continues its role as a key driver. “As representatives of the exhibitor community as a whole, our exhibitor advisory committee recently reiterated the importance of Control,” explains the project manager: “Control is by far the world’s best trade fair in the field of quality assurance. It’s entirely unique throughout the global market because it features different types of metrology, and is thus relevant for all industry sectors.”
Control: World’s Leading Trade Fair as a Firm Date in the Annual Calendar
For many companies it’s not only relevant, but rather indispensable as well. “Control has evolved into a firm entry in the trade fair calendar for the entire metrology sector. Schneider Messtechnik has been an exhibitor from the very beginning and we’ve been able to accompany Control without interruption right on up to this year’s 35th event at the Stuttgart Exhibition Centre. It is and has been our most important trade fair each year,” notes Uwe J. Keller, head of marketing at Schneider Messtechnik in Bad Kreuznach, Germany. “We especially value the high concentration of expert visitors at Control, who come to the event with concrete projects and enter into dialogues with the exhibitors,” observes Keller, who specifically applauds Control’s development into the leading trade fair for quality assurance.
QA measures in many industrial and non-industrial sectors have gained unprecedented importance, and they help to manage production challenges involving efficiency, the conservation of resources and sustainability. “In order to be able to create efficient processes, you have to be informed about the current status at every point throughout the process chain. Reliable quality assurance is indispensable in order to be able to represent this transparently. The fact that in the end the conservation of resources and sustainability are also on board speaks in favour of this. Defective parts can be rejected immediately and are thus not passed on to downstream production steps. The consumption of energy and production resources is reduced,” explains Uwe J. Keller from Schneider Messtechnik. The company stresses the increasing importance of modern, practical measuring software that has to support intuitive use on the one hand, and needs to meet the challenges of full automation on the other.
Digital Mapping as a Basis for Forecasts and Optimisation
Testing the properties and condition of workpieces and products is essential for manufacturing quality. As a consequence, inline inspection processes, supported by artificial intelligence technologies (AI), have long since taken their place in everyday modern production. The digital transformation process is highly relevant and can be implemented, for example, by means of X-ray technology, optical 3D systems, measuring instruments for fast tactile measurement and modern software. Digital mapping of processes, infrastructure and components has become essential in many areas because virtual worlds serve as the basis for forecasts and optimisation – companies can identify quality problems and their causes more quickly through the use of digitalisation.
Highly International with Direct Practical Relevance
Condition and process controls have become indispensable: to a greater or lesser extent, all manufacturing companies implement measures for the inspection of shape and dimensions, for object recognition and position detection, for presence and completeness checks, for internal and external component testing, and for surface inspection. And thus Control 2023 will present lots of further developments covering all aspects of measuring and test technology, materials testing, analysis equipment, vision technology, image processing and sensor technology, as well as weighing and counting technology and AI-supported software tools. “We’re looking forward to the 35th Control in the spring of 2023 with special anticipation,” explains Bettina Schall, managing director of trade fair promoters P. E. Schall. “Exhibitors as well as expert visitors appreciate the thematic focus of Control as an industry highlight. This makes the trade fair a highly esteemed business platform.
