The 37th Control international trade fair for quality assurance will focus on quality, relevance and high levels of expertise from the 6th through the 9th of May, 2025. The expert community can once again expect a world-class industry summit with a clear thematic focus. The spectrum encompasses the fields of vision, image processing and sensor technology, as well as measuring and test technology including the latest software and analysis technology. The trade fair highlight is targeted at suppliers and users of solutions for the quality of products, processes and services. It’s one of the most important industry events of the year for QA managers because it covers various types of measuring technology and presents relevant information across all sectors.

“Preparation for the next Control international trade fair for quality assurance is running very smoothly!” Project manager Fabian Krüger from trade fair promoters P. E. Schall is sharing this positive news in order to set the tone for the next meeting of the expert community. “All the well-known major players are back again,” emphasises Krüger. “We’re building on our traditional strengths and are planning to occupy halls 3, 5, 7 and 9 at the Stuttgart Exhibition Centre. Roughly seven months before the trade fair, we’ve already matched the number of registrations received in 2024.” In April of that year, 475 exhibitors met up with 13,149 expert visitors and discussed modern quality assurance (QA) solutions in a highly vibrant working atmosphere. “We’ll experience our usual high levels of internationality again in 2025,” promises Krüger, who estimates that the current number of registered exhibitors from outside of Germany amounts to about 34%.

Measuring Technology Suppliers are Evolving into Measuring System Specialists

A wide range of quality assurance measures are essential for manufacturing companies and have a decisive influence on their future. In particular during economically difficult times, modern QA solutions are of great importance. There’s a clear-cut trend: inspection processes are becoming faster and more efficient, they take place inline and they’re integrated into a diverse range of workflows. Artificial intelligence (AI) systems can provide support, in particular with regard to the acceleration of measuring processes, the evaluation of measurement data and increased degrees of automation. This is a key aspect for production companies on their way to zero-defects production. The industry is moving towards full automation with closed-loop processes. This means that measuring systems will be set up automatically and components will be fed, removed and sorted, and finally even packaged automatically. As a result, many QA providers are in the process of expanding their offerings to include a full range of peripherals. “Measuring technology no longer stands alone – it’s integrated into the manufacturing process,” explains Krüger. Thanks to digitalisation and networking, it’s becoming increasingly interesting for companies to capture as much information and measurement data as possible from the process because, for example, various test and sensor technologies can be integrated into the system and a broad range of parameters can be acquired.

Control is Relevant Across All Industry Sectors

Automation and digitalisation are also playing an increasingly important role in QA. We’re moving away from stationary measuring instruments and quality testing in the laboratory, and towards direct integration into the manufacturing process in order to achieve continuous monitoring. Many aspects and industries are affected – modern quality assurance measures not only play an important role in tackling production challenges in terms of efficiency, the conservation of resources and sustainability, where the goal is to minimise waste, defects and errors in the production process and to make processes economical. Numerous safety aspects play a major role as well. This is why Control showcases an extensive range of measuring technologies and presents them in a manner which demonstrates relevance across all industries. “Quality assurance measures are targeted at ensuring efficiency and the conservation of resources,” summarises Krüger, “and in the end what counts is profitability, competitive strength and sustainability. These are existential challenges for all companies.”

Traditionally High Levels of Technical Expertise at Control

Exhibitors meet up with well-informed expert visitors at Control, who possess well-founded specialised knowledge about measuring technology and want to engage in concrete technical discussions with the suppliers. This is one of the reasons why the exhibitors report high rates of business success. Tangible demonstrations and direct explanations directly at the product in question, high levels of expertise amongst the visitors and personal contact make the trade fair indispensable for many industry players. The link between research and industry will be highlighted again as well. The dates for all industry stakeholders have been firmly scheduled: the 6th to 9th of May in Stuttgart!
